Tired & Hungry Shopping= Increased Food Spending!

One of the busiest times for grocery stores is after working hours. It could also be one of the most expensive times to shop as we are often tired and AND hungry.

Quick dinners, ready made vegetables/meals and goodies in the check-out isle look more appealing but they come at a higher price! So what are some solutions? The best solution would be to follow weekly meal plans, make shopping lists and shop on the weekend after eating a meal. Just using one of the above solutions can make a money saving difference with food bills! 

 

Meal plans: Following a weekly meal plan can assist you in creating a grocery shopping list. It provides you with specific foods that you will need during the week’s for preparation.

Grocery list: Having and sticking to a grocery list can avoid buying extra products you do not need and therefore provide extra food savings!

Shopping when you are rested: when you are tired you are more tempted to buy ready-made or pre-made meals.  Our brains send messages that cause us crave fatty and sweet foods.  Shopping when rested helps with better decision making.

Shopping with a full stomach: your the temptation to buy junk food will be less when your stomach is full.  We especially crave foods that are quick to digest, such as potato chips and sweets, when we are hungry.
